Have a cow!

My sweet son is beginning to do and say the funniest things!! First of all he only speaks if he feels like it. Most of the time he does not care if what he is saying is considered 'English' because he knows what he is saying!! His favorite thing to do is make animal sounds. Instead of cockadoodledoo, it's 'coodoo' he says 'ra ray' for a doggie and 'yowyow' for a cat!

My favorite yet would be the cow story! One day my mom was over at our house. She went to the restroom, Luke followed her and was not okay with we shutting the door on him- he started throwing a fit. She looked down at him and said 'gosh Luke, have a cow - okay you can come in' he immediately said 'MOOOOOOO' as if he was having a cow.... Oh the things kids say'n can't wait to continue to post more and more stories of lukey!!

Beach Day! Mommy and Lukey

Today started like any other day! My little guy wakes up around 845, I change him and then we climb back into my bed for our morning cuddles! At around 930, Lilly is whining to be let out so we get outta bed! I ask Luke if he wants a banana and he excitedly says 'BA BA BA' (his version of banana). I then tell him to sit in his chair and I'll go get his his banana! He climbs up in his highchair and proceeds to clap asking for his favorite fruit! After he eats his banana and waffle - we play a little around the house, he helps with dishes, and folding laundry! I then ask him 'Luke do you want to go to the beach!' he immediately turns around an says 'Beach! Beach!' lol I pack us up and here we are!

We have been at the Beach since 1230, it's 3pm now and lukey has now fallen asleep on a towel, ON the beach! But as he was playing I kept watching him in amazement... What an amazing gift I've been given!!! This awesome little kid who I get to hang out with everyday! Who I've been entrusted with by God to raise!

I am in awe of his greatness as I stare out at the ocean and here is my prayer
'Dear God, THANK you for always being bigger than my problems, bigger than my battles, bigger than my obstacles!! You are a Loving God who has never left me!! Please help me to be the best mother I can be to my son, so that he is raised up knowing YOUR love..... Thank you for my son and for my husband... They truly are my life! AMEN'

Until next time!

Cookie

I've decided I'd update the blog with small yet memorable stories from time to time!

So today Luke and I decide to take Kahlua and Lilly to the park! Before we go I decide to give Luke a peanut butter cookie (kinda like a nutterbutter)... While I am putting on Lilly's leash I notice Luke laughing, playing keep away from Kahlua! Then I say 'let's go to the park' he still has half of the cookie in one hand and half in the other... Now we have been at the park for over 20 minutes and Luke is still walking around with the cookie... Every once in a while I notice him put a little bite in his mouth...

Talk about holding on tight to what you got while you have it! Love this kid! Everyday I learn new life principals from him :-)

Until next time!

Been an awesome year!

Well, it has been now over a year from my last post! And to be honest, it's like I forgot about my wonderful, fun Blog! Well here I am! Updated WITH an amazing iPhone app! Making it perfect to blog while I am at the park (across the street from my house) while my dog and son run around together in the beautiful Florida sun!!

Where do I pick up? After reading my last post I smiled! A year ago, I was trying my hardest to be that 'over achieving hard working mother' when at nights I would cry myself to sleep! Why was it so bad? A LOT of moms do it! Why couldn't I? Was I not strong enough? Why couldn't I trust daycares to love my son the way I did? Why was MY job so overwhelming? All of these thoughts and many more entered my head almost everyday.... When finally I laid in bed one night and prayed so hard my head hurt. I remember waking up the next morning with an idea... I went into the living room and grabbed a pen and paper and started to make a 'plan' (My parents always taught me that before I made any big decisions to make sure it made sense first) SO, that is what I did, I was so motivated to make MY life changing business/mother/wife decision that I wasn't going to let anything stop me! The next few months were trying, I remember doubting my plan and my dream. But I also remember the determination that had been placed on my heart to do what I felt was TRULY best for my family and myself! I remember praying to God 'I am in YOUR hands, please help my husband and I to make the best decision'.

THEN comes the hard part, sitting down with my husband to propose this plan! I remember being so nervous because I really wanted to be 'super mommy' and not disappoint my husband but quickly realized 'super mommy' is described in a million different ways! No surprise, my husband couldn't have been more supportive of this dream of mine! After a few months of 'business planning' and laying the foundation - I was able to leave my job and start my OWN company!

Which is where we are now! www.sarahparkerphotography.com is now my parttime job, and I am a FULL time stay at home mommy and hometakercarerof'er! Lol!!! (my own word)!

Phew! Well, I am looking forward to updating this blog once a week with new stories about Luke's development and fun Parker Fam stories! If you are reading this then you must care about our little family, so thank you and God Bless!

New Beginnings!

Hello again friends and family!

For those who follow me on facebook, you might have seen that I have now been offered a position at a much LARGER and BUSIER store on the eastside of Jacksonville :) I will now be very close to my husband's office, which will make for some much needed "LUNCH DATES"!!  As many of you know, once there is a baby in the family, the time alone as a couple is few and far between.  I am looking forward to spending this time with my Husband in the middle of our busy days as "SALES PEOPLE"

My son is changing more and more each day.  Yesterday he accomplished two MAJOR milestones - He rolled over from back to front AND held his bottle for the first time by himself.  Auntie Meme watches him all day and is working with him to learn new things everyday!  (Did I mention that we are so blessed to have her in our lives right now?)  The have a routine together and Luke is really doing great without mommy! haha (even though that's hard to say, I wouldnt have it any other way - My sister is my best friend and I know she would give her life for my son!)

Last night was also Daddy's birthday and we went to the Japanese steak house down the street, this was the first time for Mills :)  We had a great time together, despite the wait!

Also, for those who keep an eye on the pictures uploaded to facebook, you will see how much Luke loves to smile.  He is SO happy - I couldnt be happier as a mommy!  He knows he is loved more than anything in this world.  I want him to stay THIS age forever... he is 5 months old and sure he still wakes up in the middle of the night, but he is so SWEET!  When he is sad, all he needs is mommy to hold him and bounce or mommy to hold him and nurse him and EVERYTHING IS OKAY!  I know that there will be one day (very soon) when this wont work anymore... I know that at that time ALL I will want is to hold him and make all of his hurts go away... SO like I said before.... for now I will hug and kiss and SPOIL my little bubby... He is my everything!

until next time,

Happy Valentine's DAY!

Happy Valentine's day 2011 - Dear Friends and Family!

Well, my baby boy turned 5 months yesterday and I still look at him in amazement. I cannot believe that he is MY baby. I always dreamed of having a son, dreamed of being a mommy, dreamed of being the best parent I could be, but no dream could EVER compare to my REAL life now. There are NO words that can truly describe how I feel about being a mommy to my son. (but here's a try)

The ONLY way I can describe my heart when I wake up and see my baby boy, is combining the feeling you get when someone compliments you - with the feeling of winning the highest accolade - with the feeling of hitting the jackpot - with the feeling of laughing so hard your out of breath - and with the feeling of reaching a dream you NEVER thought possible --- ALL ROLLED INTO ONE EMOTION :) ( I know, I know! It seems like im OVER exaggerating but I'm really and truly not) My son keeps me going, when the going gets tough... He gives more meaning to my life than I ever imagined. And my feelings for him can ONLY be described in my description above.

My husband and I have been very blessed, to have my Big sister Millie living with us and watching our son! She loves him with all her heart - and I don't know if I could trust anyone else with him at this age... She can't stand to hear him cry, she makes sure he's fed, taken naps and MOSTLY makes sure he knows he's LOVED.

Okay, well this was a "mushy" post today because it's Valentine's Day and I wanted to make it VERY known to all of my "readers" ;-) how I feel today!

I am the luckiest girl to have my best friend, my soulmate and my love as my husband this Valentines Day - and to top it all off God even gave me a son. (These are the things I think about when I feel like the day is going HORRIBLE)..... Think about your blessings too and you will get through !

Love, Sarah P

I'M BACK :)

Well here I am back on the BLOG! I now have time to post because I am back to work! I will be adding new fun stories to this as they occur. (During down times OF COURSE-which isnt TOO often so this may take a while during the day to post)

So my dear son will be 5 months old on Monday 2/13/11 (also my mothers birthday). I CANNOT believe this lil guy is already 5 months old. I have to say that the first 3 months were the HARDEST months out of all of them - my lil guy was VERY upset most of the time... due to Acid Reflux, gas and who knows what else. I think he needed one more trimester in the womb cause he just wasnt ready to enter this crazy world. It was almost over night that a light clicked above his head :) He didn't need me to hold him all the time, he ate more and better, and slept longer :)

That is a brief summary of the beginning of his life - most of the time (since I was off work) I sat in the glider chair with my baby on my chest - cheek to cheek- and I LOVED IT! We watched movies together, took naps together and mostly BONDED all day together. Some people may say "that wasnt a good idea, you were spoiling that baby" and this is what I have to say to those people "you have your life and you live it the best way you believe- I do the same ;)" My son KNOWS his mommy, he LOVES his mommy and NOONE will ever be able to take that from me. That little boy trusts his mommy more than anyone in the world and I would do anything to keep a smile on that little face.

Until next post... It's lunch time at work - time to pump ;)

Humbled

Today I woke up with a smile on my face! For the first time I took a step back and LOOKED from the outside looking in at my life. Luke had his normal morning hiccups and body rolls from left to right in my belly, Lilly gave me her normal wet kisses and her head on my chest, my husband left the house with a typical long kiss on the forehead and a sweet "I Love You", the sheets and comforter smelled like sweet fabric softener, and the sun was peaking through the window.... - all of which I never realized how truly lucky I was to have... I closed my eyes and the Lord humbled me at that moment - reminding me that even though I am not a millionaire, I am not a supermodel, that I am not a genius - I have riches far beyond what I deserve.

With all that being said, today's mood is a day of feeling humbled... - and of course blessed.

When I got in the car, Kirk Franklin was on.... and I smiled again.... "......Love a word that comes and goes, But few people really know, What it means to really love somebody, Love, though the tears may fade away, I'm so glad your love will stay, Cause I love you , And you show me, Jesus, What it really means to love..."

ALMOST 35 weeks!

Wow, I have let 5 weeks go by and NO BLOG! I am so sorry to all my friends and family who read this! LOL I update my Facebook with random thoughts, but I don't really ever DETAIL what's going on right now in my body :)

So, here we are at 35 weeks and I feel like I'm physically ready for Luke to be here.. I have made a top 10 reasons why I am ready to NOT be pregnant! lol

10. So I can have my core strength back, instead of wobbling around I can actually use my abs again!
9. So I can stand up and not feel like my hip bones just popped out of place, (loosening ligaments)
8. So I can put on my socks without contorting my body uncomfortably (laying on the bed with feet in air)!
7. So I can drink a glass of water and NOT run to the restroom every 15 minutes later.
6. So I can go jogging and not get winded after 2.3 seconds.
5. So I can eat skittles and starbursts again (Dr. told me to cut back the carbs)
4. So I can see my ankle bones, instead of my extended calfs (cankles)
3. So I can fit in my tennis shoes (feet are too swollen)
2. So I can SLEEP ON MY STOMACH!

AND THE NUMBER ONE REASON I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE LUKE IS SO THAT I CAN....

1. Hold my baby boy, touch him cheek to cheek and tell him he was worth every single annoyance that mommy had to go through :)

I promise to post more later this week :) I took maternity photos this week they are on facebook! :) we had a great time and I KNOW that I have the best husband ever, because he never complains, he never tells me to stop complaining, he LISTENS to me ! I know that he is going to be THE BEST DADDY LUKE COULD EVER HAVE :)

Almost 30 weeks Preggo!!

WOW Its been wayyyy to long since I posted in here! I am sure that I do not have many people who check this, but I am hoping there is a way to keep this blog for the future. Possibly to print out in a little book for Luke... Very soon from now he will be here and all of these posts will be a distant memory! Time truly does fly here on earth... When we are in the thick of all the good things happening in our lives it seems to go by EVEN QUICKER!

I think today I will tell some funny stories about being pregnant!

The other day we were in Hilton Head, SC visiting our dear friends Steve and Stephanie Wisdom. (Stephanie is 32 weeks pregnant). Our lovely husband's had a few drinks so I was the DD naturally :) We drove to a wonderful spot on the island of Hilton head and by the time I got there I had to PEEEEEEE so bad. I was hurting to the point that I had tears in my eyes as we were walking to the yacht that we were going to be visiting for the fireworks. I looked at my husband and told him that the CLOSEST place we get to that has a restroom I AM GOING! Then we came up on this restaurant. I walk in to see a LINE of 30 women in line waiting to go pee. MY eyes REALLY filled up with pain, RIGHT as I was about to just let it all out the next woman in line asked me how far along I was and when I told her I was 30 weeks and I REALLY HAD TO GO, she started campaigning for me to get to the front of the line!.... She spoke so loud and said "WOMEN FOR ALL OF YOU THAT ARE MOTHERS AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO AREN'T YET, PLEASE LET THIS PREGNANT MOTHER IN THE FRONT OF THE LINE! SHE IS ALMOST IN TEARS BECAUSE SHE HAS TO PEE SO BAD!" You wouldn't believe the line OPENED UP and they all let me get to the front of the line.. :) I WAS SO RELIEVED!

I had come to the point that I was okay with just peeing my pants and dealing with it for the rest of the night... (to be honest I did leak quite a bit while I was in tears!...)

Let's see what other stories I can come up with later in this week :)

HAPPY DAY EVERYONE!
